Would allowing students on college campuses to carry guns save lives? Lawyers.com reporter Greg Presto explores this issue from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Currently, the university bans concealed weapons on campus, a public land. But Maryland state law allows guns to be carried on public land. This means the university rule could be overturned.

Greg interviews David Burnett, spokesperson of Students for Concealed Carry. Last year this group convinced the Colorado Supreme Court to rule that students should be able to carry concealed weapons at the University of Colorado.

David says legislators are responsible for setting standards for carrying a concealed weapons, not unelected college bureaucrats. Now college officials make the policies, which mostly ban guns from campuses.

Greg speaks with Andy Pelosi, President of Gun Free Kids. Andy says with more guns, you have more deaths and injuries. He asks why do we want to increase the risks?

Listen to both sides as these two well-spoken representatives go toe-to-toe, firing off reasons for their positions. This latest round in the gun debate is far from over. Let us know where you stand in our comment section below.
