On November 10, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced it would recall 52,000 Nissan vehicles due to defective airbags in addition to the millions already recalled.

The administration launched a massive Takata airbag recall in June 2014 after receiving complaints about injuries caused by exploding airbags and spewed shrapnel.

The massive recall affected more than three million vehicles. During the last several months, the number of vehicles affected by the airbag recall has increased to more than 11 million automobiles in the U.S., according to Business Insider.

The November Nissan recall added the following vehicles:

  • Pathfinder SUVs model years 2003-2004
  • Sentra sedans model years 2004-2006
  • Infiniti FX35 and FX45 crossover SUVs model years 2003-2005
  • Infiniti I35 sedans from 2003-2004
  • Infiniti M35 and M45 sedans from 2006

Nissan owners affected by the recall may be eligible to file a claim against Takata Corporation for economic loss. Contact an airbag recall lawyer to find out if you are entitled to compensation.
