On Friday June 7th, Attorney Mark Scherzer spoke in his capacity as counsel for New Yorkers for Accessible Health Coverage at the 8th annual C5 Summit to discuss the implications of the Affordable Care Act At Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. He hosted a breakout session with members from the New York Health Benefit Exchange and EmblemHealth, as well as health care professionals to discuss colon cancer prevention programs under the Affordable Care Act and how they would be affected. The C5 Summit is a collaboration between the City Colan Cancer Control Coalition (C5) and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH); this year is the 8th Annual summit focused on the implication of emerging issues and trends in the changing healthcare environment, in particular the affordable care act and how it relates to colon cancer prevention.
