a ticket means that you are pleading guilty. If you plead guilty to
a moving violation, the Court will notify the Department of Motor
Vehicles (DMV). A moving violation is a driving error that
contributes to the likelihood of an accident, such as speeding,
following too closely, unsafe lane change, crossing hov divider, passing
a red light, failing to signal, etc. DMV assigns points to moving
violations. The DMV will note the conviction and points on your
driving record. Convictions for any moving violations will not
be deleted from your driving record until January of the fourth year following the conviction.
