“Naked Darrow” Resurrects One of History’s Greatest Lawyers

Clarence Darrow (1857-1938) was on trial in Los Angeles for jury tampering. Darrow hit a low point, even contemplating suicide–then George Bessette, a common criminal whom he once defended, came from Chicago and offered to kill the only witness against him.
