Judge Says Gay Marriage Must Come to New Jersey

New Jersey must allow same-sex couples to get married, a judge ordered Friday. “The ineligibility of same-sex couples for federal benefits is currently harming same-sex couples in New Jersey in a wide range of contexts,” Judge Mary C. Pa. County Clerk’s Stand Sparks Marriage Equality Showdown

A Pennsylvania judge ordered a county clerk to stop issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, which he’s done since shortly after the United States Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in June.
