The Blind Can Carry Guns in Public in Iowa

It seems too obvious to even be covered by a law: How can you legally carry a gun if you can’t see what you’re aiming at? Mo. Lawmakers Fail in Effort to Nullify Federal Gun Laws

Missouri lawmakers yesterday failed to override the governor’s veto of a bill that would declare federal firearm laws null and void.  The measure would have included criminal penalties against federal employees that attempt to enforce federal laws and deem invalid any laws that “infringe on the people’s right to keep and bear arms.” Gun rights advocates rallied outside the state capitol building in Jefferson City as the lawmakers inside narrowly missed the vote total they needed. Portland Loaded Gun Ban Upheld

The Oregon Supreme Court has upheld a Portland law that prohibits carrying loaded firearms in public in most circumstances.  The Emerald City has banned loaded guns for decades, as do several other municipalities in Oregon, but the statute recently came up against a Second Amendment court challenge in City of Portland v. Cops Make Largest Gun Bust in NYC History

The New York Police Department on Aug. 19 announced the confiscation of 254 guns that were smuggled into the city from the Carolinas on Chinatown buses, marking the biggest firearm bust in the force’s history.
