Judge Blocks Mississippi Open Carry Law Indefinitely

A Mississippi judge today declared that the state’s new open carry law is unconstitutionally vague and ordered that an injunction against it be extended indefinitely. State officials already announced that they plan to appeal the judge’s decision to the state Supreme Court. The measure, signed into law earlier this year, had been scheduled to go into effect July 1 before Judge Winston Kidd blocked it. New Gun Laws In Effect in Colorado, Other States

New restrictive gun laws going into effect this week are facing controversy in Colorado, while other firearm laws go live around the country. Gun Makers Bail on Connecticut, Citing Harsh Firearm Laws

Making good on its promise, a Connecticut gun manufacturer is leaving for South Carolina after the New England state enacted a package of restrictive firearms laws this spring. San Francisco Suing Over Ammo Magazine Repair Kits

The city of San Francisco has filed a lawsuit against sellers of gun magazine repair kits, claiming they are being used as a work-around California law banning loading devices that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition. Texas Escort Killer Acquitted of Murder

A Texas man was acquitted of murder last week after he shot and killed an escort who he said refused to have sex with him.
