Pa. County Clerk’s Stand Sparks Marriage Equality Showdown

A Pennsylvania judge ordered a county clerk to stop issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, which he’s done since shortly after the United States Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in June. This week, the county pledged to fight back by appealing the ruling. New Jersey Bans Gay Conversion Therapy

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie signed into law on Monday a bill that prohibits therapists from trying to convince gay teenagers to be straight. The practice of gay conversion therapy has been widely discredited as ineffective and dangerous to youth, criticized for pushing children into depression and even suicide.
