High School Football Player Wins $11.5M for Concussion

A jury awarded $11.5 million to a former high school football player accusing helmet maker Riddell Sports, Inc. of causing brain injuries he suffered as a teenager. In 2008, during football practice at Trinidad High School in Trinidad, Colo., Rhett Ridolfi, now 22, suffered a concussion. HMO Hit with $524M Verdict for Giving Hep C in Colonoscopies

A health insurance company rolled the dice with a Las Vegas jury and lost more than half a billion dollars. Police to Pay $6.5M for Shooting Man Wielding a Garden Hose

A federal jury has ordered police in Long Beach, Calif., to pay $6.5 million to the family of a man shot dead by police officers.
