The Lost Art of Handwritten Thank You Notes and Face to Face Communication

It
is interesting to see how our society has relied on technology, computers and
smartphones as our preferred method of communicating with others.  Several months ago, I had the pleasure of
working with an elderly client who rarely, if ever, accessed his emails. He explained that things are much easier to
settle over the phone or in-person at a meeting. He complained that lawyers try too hard to
make themselves sound smart by using big words and overly long sentences in
emails and as a result, it would take him double the time to interpret the
