A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against the Fayetteville, N.C., Police Department over a November 2011 shooting during a traffic stop. The victim was pulled over for illegally driving across a median into a nightclub parking lot; surveillance video shows the officer reached into the car and pulled the victim out of the car and the two fell onto the ground. A brief scuffle occurred, and the officer pulled his gun and shot the victim. The suit accuses the department of negligence, poor training and poor supervision.
