Japanese automokers have recalled over three million vehicles worldwide as a result of an airbag defect. The passenger side airbags in certain cars can deploy too forcefully causing shards of metal to fly toward the occupants. The airbag supplier, Takata Corporation, also supplies American manufacturers, so American car makers may follow. If you have a car affected by the recall you should get a notice, but too be safe, you can contact your local dealer.
