Full Transcript: One of the questions is, will I have to pay for title insurance every month? That’s assuming, of course, that you’re a buyer and that’s also assuming that you’re in a state where the buyer pays for title insurance. In many states, the seller pays for title insurance. Even in Florida, in some counties the seller pays, in some counties the buyer pays. And in other states, the seller always pays.
So, it really has to do with convention and what’s typically considered customary for a particular location. But in answer to the question, title insurance is not something that you pay every month. It’s something that you pay once. You pay it at closing, whether the buyer or seller pays it. And you do not pay anything ever again after that.
